Lk. 16:18,
“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth
adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband
committeth adultery.”
Part A
Whosoever
Puts Away
– (wrongfully) – Remarries Another –
Commits Adultery
Part B
Whosoever
Is Put Away
– Remarries –
Commits Adultery
[Includes all put
away people who had been scripturally married (See Romans 7:2-3; I Cor.
7:39)]
Note:
The divine decree prohibiting ALL put away people from
scriptural marriage to another (while one’s obligated man / woman is
still alive; Rom. 7:2-3; I Cor. 7:39), was stated AFTER Jesus spoke
of post-divorce adultery being committed by the one who had
wrongfully put away his bound companion (Mt. 19:9a; Lk. 16:18a). There is
absolutely no scripture whatsoever, which
teaches the ability of wrongfully put away people to “put away” a divinely obligated man / woman
who is already “away” or to “put asunder” a marriage (Mt.
19:6; Mk. 10:9; I Cor. 7:10-11) that has already been separated! Not even
when the mate who had put them away “committeth adultery,” as this verse
points out. |
